Archaist
License Agreement

Archaist is freeware, but is not in the public domain. It is owned by Informationsdiket / michi.nu and protected by copyright laws and treaties.

Please note that rights to use and redistribute Archaist are rights granted by this license. By running Archaist you indicate your complete acceptance of this license agreement. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, remove Archaist from your computer. You may then neither use nor redistribute the software.

Usage

You are licensed to install and use Archaist without cost on any number of computers provided each installation of the software is complete and unmodified and no file, including this license agreement, is removed.

Distribution

You are allowed and encouraged to distribute Archaist in a non-commercial way subject to the following conditions:

• Such distribution includes only the original archive supplied by michi.nu. You may not add, alter, delete or repackage any files in the distribution archive.
• You may not use any kind of installation wrapper to install additional software or present any kind of advertisement in conjuction with the distribution or installation of Archaist. This restriction does not extend to advertisements on web pages with Archaist download links.
• No money is charged to the person receiving Archaist beyond actual costs of media and postage, provided these do not exceed USD 5.

Commercial periodical publications may distribute Archaist on their cover disks without special permission subject to the following conditions:

• Such distribution includes only the original archive supplied by michi.nu, or a folder containing the contents of this archive with no files added, altered, or deleted.
• The latest version of the game available from http://www.michi.nu/games/archaist/ at the time of media creation is used.
• You may not use any kind of installation wrapper to install additional software or present any kind of advertisement in conjuction with the installation of Archaist.

You may not distribute Archaist under any other conditions than the above without prior written permission. Under no circumstances will permission be granted to bundle the game with spyware, adware or any other kind of malware. Don't waste your time asking. Any such distribution is a blatant violation against this license as well as any reasonable ethics system, and should be reported to alerts@michi.nu so that we may take action, legal or otherwise, to make it stop.

Note

In some modes Archaist replicates elements of the original Pastfinder artwork. This is done in the belief that such use is generally considered acceptable for games of Pastfinder's age and shall in no way be construed as us claiming any rights whatsoever to these elements or to Pastfinder itself.

Disclaimer of Warranty

Archaist was created under time pressure and is known to contain several bugs, albeit none that could cause harm to your system. Because of this and the many software and hardware environments into which it can be made to run, the game and the accompanying files come "as is" and without any warranties whether expressed or implied. The user must assume the entire risk of running the program. Any liability of the developer will be limited exclusively to product replacement.
